Dormer Launch New Products



We are delighted Dormer have launched these new Products they are what we have been waiting for since the start of the year. If we haven't got the size you require ex-stock we will have it the next day. 

Manufactured from premium grade High Speed Cobalt (HSS-E) the new forming tap range includes bright finish and Titanium Nitride (TiN) coated versions. An oil groove option is also available. Key benefits include:

  • High performance and productivity in a wide range of materials
  • Chip-free threading operation produces a stronger thread than cutting taps with increased load bearing capabilities. Higher cutting speeds are, therefore, recommended
  • Greater accuracy of finished thread with lower surface roughness
  • Highly stable design means less risk of tap breakage and optimum process security All taps are available in Metric thread form to DIN 2174
Manufactured from premium grade High Speed Cobalt (HSS-E) this new range of taps offers high performance production in a wide range of stainless steels. Available with Steam Tempered (ST) or Super-B coating with additional edge treatment (TiAlN + WC/C), this new range of taps guarantees excellent performance in most stainless steel grades. 
  • Optimum combination of material and geometry ensures low material adhesion, resulting in increased performance and tool life
  • Tap geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and, consequently, negligible chip congestion
  • Short thread length on spiral flute taps generates less torque meaning they can be run at higher cutting conditions 
  • Available in spiral flute and spiral point geometries in Metric and Metric Fine thread forms, and in spiral flute geometry in G(BSP) thread form

Dormer Shark Line takes a bite out of threading Dormer Tools has introduced a new range of taps for material specific applications branded “Shark Line” . Designed to obtain superior performance, all Shark taps feature a coloured ring that signifies the specific material type it is suited to. ​The programme encompasses spiral point taps for through-hole applications, spiral flute taps for threading blind holes and, in the case of white ring taps for cast iron, straight flute taps for both through or blind holes.
